Autumn leaves – Mask!

This makeup look I created in august for a Makeupgeek contest. Since I’ve just started blogging, I want to show some of the looks I’ve already done. And this is one of them.  I think I used 3 – 4 hours on this look, but it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot, since this was the first time I’d ever made a mask using makeup. Afterwards my boyfriend and I had a little “photoshoot” outside the house and we had a blast! It was really weird to see myself looking so different. That I think, is also what’s so great about makeup: You can put on something that reflects how you feel that day or you can make yourself look
totally different from how you usually look.

For this look, what inspired me were the beautiful colours that the leaves on the trees get in the fall. Gorgeous yellow, orange and red colours! My eyes, with brown eye shadows are representing the tree itself and the rest of the mask shows the leaves. If you want to create a mask, you should first apply a primer where you want the colour. This is to make the colours look more vibrant, to be able to blend them better and to make the mask stay on longer. Also, when you’re creating the shape of the mask you would want to use a white pencil liner, because you can easily rub it off if you do a mistake. For that I used the Jumbo eye pencil in Milk, from NYX, which worked great!

Products I used:

  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.
  • Too Faced Shadow Insuranse.
  • Nouba Quattro Eye Shadow Quad 626.
  • NYX Box of Eyeshadows, 112 colours.
  • Too Faced Glamour to go kit – Fairy edition.
  • L’Oreal – Vollume million lashes mascara.

I hope you liked the look and just leave a comment if you have any questions about it. 🙂
