Blue for New Year’s Eve? :)

This look I wore the other day and I wanted it to match my blue nails, so this was what I came up with 🙂 I used the most beautiful blue eyeshadow in the world, Royal Sugar by Sugerpill! I just got it and I had to try out that gorgeous colour, right away 😀

Products I used:

  • Too Faced – Shadow Insurance
  • NYX – Jumbo eye pencil in Milk
  • Sugarpill – Pressed eyeshadow in Tako
  • Sugarpill – Loose eyeshadow in Royal Sugar
  • Sugarpill – Pressed eyeshadow in Midori
  • Sugarpill – Loose eyeshadow in Tiara
  • Viva la Diva – Glitter Liner in Silver
  • L’Oreal – Super Liner
  • L’Oreal – Volume million lashes mascara
  • Too Faced – Brow envy kit

How to:

  1. Apply a primer
  2. Blend out a light green eyeshadow from your crease and up and create the shape that you want
  3. Apply a blue colour all over your lid and blend it into the green crease colour
  4. On your brow bone, apply a matte white highlight and blend it into the green
  5. I used a loose eyeshadow with silvery glitters (Tiara) in the inner corner of my eye and on my brow bone, but you can use a shimmery, white pressed eyeshadow as well
  6. If you want even more glitter, apply a silvery glitter liner in the inner corner of your eye
  7. On your lower lash line, apply the blue eyeshadow in the outer corner and the green colour the rest of the way in to the inner corner. Blend the colours together
  8. Use a white pencil liner and apply it to your lower waterline. Set it with a white eyeshadow
  9. Line your eyes with a black liquid liner and create a winged out “cat eye”
  10. Apply mascara and also false lashes if you want to
  11. Done 😀

I hope you enjoyed the look!

Gorgeous NYE look by Stacey Brennan! :D

Hi beauties! I was contacted by this sweet and talented girl Stacey yesterday, where she told me that my looks inspired her to do this amazing New Year’s Eve look, on her youtube channel. 🙂 I got so happy, because my main goal with this blog is to be of inspiration. She mentions my blog in her video, which I’m so honored by!! Also, I’m so thankful and happy about her overwhelming compliments. They mean so much to me!

Check out this tutorial and all the other great videoes on her YT channel, if you want inspiration and to learn new things about makeup! 😀 http://www.youtube.com/staceybrennan

In the video, she’s wondering if I have a youtube channel. Unfortunately, I don’t have one yet, but I’ve been wanting to start making video tutorials for a while now. So I’ll definetly start doing that soon, I just have to save up enough for a video camera first. 🙂

Thank you so much, Stacey! ❤

Blue Glittery Nails :)

I got this H&M Blue My Mind nail polish for Christmas. I really love that gorgeous and bright blue colour, so I thought I’d create a nail design with it. 🙂

Products I used:

  • Sally Hansen – Complete Care 4-in-1 Nail Treatment
  • H&M – Blue My Mind nail polish
  • Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
  • NYX – Glitter on the go in Cool Blue
  • Blue nailart rhinestones from Ebay
  • DUO – Eyelash adhesive

How to:

  1. Apply a base coat
  2. Apply your favorite blue nail polish
  3. Make your nailpolish last longer by applying a top coat
  4. When your nails are dry, cover your nail (except for the tip of the nail where you want the glitter), with a piece of paper. This will create a sharp line when you apply the glitter.
  5. Apply a clear nail polish to the tip of your nails and cover this area with blue glitter. I used a flat synthetic brush to pick up the glitter and place it gently onto my nails.
  6. Remove the paper
  7. When this is dry, apply blue rhinestones along the glitter line
  8. All done 🙂

Winter Wonders :)

Hi beauties! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas weekend! 🙂

This is an other Christmas inspired look that I did the day before Christmas Eve. I’m only posting one picture this time, because I only got to take about five pictures before the sun went down and this was the only one that didn’t get blurry 😛 I also had to hurry home to visit my family, but I hope you’re able to see the rhinestones and the shape and everything, even though. 🙂

I just got three Sugarpill loose eyeshadows in the mail and here I’ve used Tiara on the lid and Royal Sugar as my liner. I love the pigments and I’ll be doing a review soon on both the pressed and the loose eyeshadows that I have! 🙂

I entered this look for the Holiday Competition on MakeupBee and I would be SO happy if you could vote for my look there, by liking the look 😀 MakeupBee is an amazing and friendly makeup community, where I first started publishing my looks. It’s very easy to make an account there and you can also sign in with your facebook 🙂 PS. I would love to do a giveaway in here, if I win! 🙂

I have searched for the perfect purple for a long time now, and I’ve finally found it 😀

Cocoa Bear! Makeup Geek look :)

Here’s a look I did, using a few of the new Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I called this makeup look Cocoa Bear, because it’s one of my favorites of the eyeshadows. 🙂 I used this colour on my lid. Isn’t it stunning? I think it’s a very special and rare colour! Hope you like the look 🙂

Products I used:

  • Too Faced – Shadow Insurance
  • NYX – Jumbo eye pencil in Milk
  • Too Faced – Brow envy kit
  • Makeup Geek – Cocoa Bear eyeshadow
  • Makeup Geek – Mocha eyeshadow
  • Makeup Geek – Purely Naked eyeshadow
  • Makeup Geek – Corrupt eyeshadow
  • Makeup Geek – Shimma Shimma eyeshadow
  • L’Oreal – Volume million lashes mascara

How to:

  1. Apply a primer to your eye
  2. Place Cocoa Bear all over your lid and along your lower lash line
  3. Use Mocha as a crease colour and blend it out with Purely Naked
  4. Along your lower lash line, apply Mocha 1/3 of the way in from the outer corner
  5. Create an “outer v” with a small amount of Corrupt. Don’t pick up too much of the eyeshadow, because it’s very pigmented and we just want it to darken the outer corner a little bit, to give the look some depth.
  6. From the outer corner of the eye, bring Corrupt slightly in along your lower lash line
  7. Blend Mocha over the black “outer v” for a more soft effect
  8. Apply Shimma Shimma to the inner corner of your eye and on your brow bone, as a highlight
  9. Use a small pointed or angled brush to apply Corrupt close to your upper lash line. Wing it out and blend it a bit, to create more of a smokey look. Hehe, the colour is so black that it looks like a liquid liner. I’m not complaining 😉
  10. Fill in your lower water line with a white eye pencil
  11. Apply mascara and also false eyelashes if you want to
  12. And the look is complete! 🙂

You can see pictures of the eyeshadows I used, in the blog post below 😉

Makeup Geek Starter kit – Review!

When the founder of Makeup Geek, the gorgeous Marlena, added eyeshadows to her makeup line, I just had to try them out! I pre ordered the starter kit which contains 8 eyeshadows, 5 matte and 3 shimmery ones. As you can see, the packaging is very similar to the MAC eyeshadow refills, but personally I think these are much prettier! 🙂

First of all I have to mention that their shipping was super fast! The day MUG got these beauties in store it took only one week before I got them! And I live in Norway, so I’m used to getting packages from The US 2 – 4 weeks after ordering them, and sometimes even longer! :/ So I was very happy about that. 😀

Now, on to the eyeshadows. I absolutely love them ❤ They’re extremely pigmented and the smoothest eyeshadows I’ve ever tried! They just feel like velvet on your skin. They’re also easy to apply and I have no trouble blending them. The colours Marlena has picked out for this kit are gorgeous and will work great for any occasion; There are matte colours you can wear during the day and more shimmery ones that you can use at night. Underneath you can see some swatches I did of the eyeshadows, but I don’t feel like the pictures do them justice!

I’ve tried out these eyeshadows for a few days now and I’ve done a few looks with them, that I’m going to post soon!

Purely Naked is a nude coloured eyeshadow which has some shimmer to it. This one would be perfect for blending out colours in the crease or as an all over lid colour, for a natural daytime look.

Mocha is a warm medium brown colour with a matte finish. I would use this as a crease colour.

Cocoa Bear is a warm, reddish brown colour. This one is also matte and I would wear it on my lid or in my crease. I really love this colour and I can’t wait to show you a look with it! 😉

Glamorous is another one of my favorites! It’s a metallic bronze gold with a shimmery finish. It is very nice and creamy and it would be perfect to wear as a lid colour at night time!

Shimma Shimma is also a shimmery eyeshadow. It’s a beautiful champagne colour which works great as a highlight. This eyeshadow is really soft and I think it might be my new favorite highlight colour. 🙂

Corrupt is incredible! It’s the blackest black eyeshadow I’ve tried! It’s more pigmented than my former favorite, matte black eyeshadow, (Stiletto from the Too Faced Naked eye kit), and it’s even better than MAC’s Carbon! Need I say more? 😉

Purple Rain is a deep, matte finished purple. This one is not as pigmented as the other shadows, but I think it’s great and the colour is lovely! It would work great as a crease colour or on the lid, for a purple smokey eye.

Unexpected is a light pink/purple colour with a matte finish. I think this shadow would look very pretty on the lid and also it would work great to blend out colours in the crease.

That was all of the colours. They fit perfectly into empty palettes, such as the Z palettes (I just ordered a pink one 🙂 ) and the MAC palettes. They are not tested on animals and they’re both Talc – and Paraben – free!

When it comes to the weight, the MUG eyeshadows give you 1,8g / 0,064oz of product. This is a bit more than the MAC eyeshadow refills contains, (1,5g / 0,05oz), and you get them for half the price of a MAC one! Still, the Makeup Geek eyeshadows are of a very high quality and I feel like some of them are even better than the MAC eyeshadows, so they’re definitely worth checking out!

Now, there are 40 more eyeshadows you can choose from on Makeupgeek.com. They look gorgeous and I’ll definitely buy more of them. The ones I have to get are Razzleberry, Unicorn, Neptune, Shimmermint, Poolside, Chickadee and Mango Tango! Very creative names, don’t you think? 😀 Here’s a link to the eyeshadows if you want to check them out: http://www.makeupgeek.com/store/eye-products/eyeshadows/makeup-geek-eyeshadows.html?p=1

Individually, the eyeshadows cost 5,99 $ and the kit I ordered, with 8 colours, costs 45$. They ship worldwide and as I said, the shipping is very fast. 🙂

I don’t think I have anything negative to say about these beautiful eyeshadows. I just have to say “You’re very welcome in my makeup bag!”

Stars: 5/5 😀

I hope this review was helpful and don’t be afraid to ask any questions about the eyeshadows. 🙂

Colorful Winter Wonderland!

I created this look for a competition by Makeuptalk.com/Sugarpill Cosmetics. For the competition I had to create a look inspired by something that reminds me of a colorful winter wonderland! For me, the most beautiful thing I know about the winter months, is the sparkly, magical night sky, filled with gorgeous stars! 😀 That’s mainly what inspired me to do this look. The other thing is the imagination of Santa Claus crossing this winter sky, at night.

As you can see I used the colors red, black and white on my eyes, which represents Santa Claus. I aslo wanted the lips to match with that. To add some sparkle to the look I used glitter to create the stars. I thought that since the theme was a colorful winter wonderland, the stars could be in many different, Christmassy colors!

  1. Start off by applying a primer to your forhead
  2. Apply foundation over it
  3. Conceal any areas you feel like concealing
  4. Set the foundation with a powder
  5. Apply a primer to your lid and up to your brow.
  6. Cover the lid with a red eyeshadow and bring it a little bit higher up than your crease
  7. Cut the crease with a black colored eyeshadow
  8. From each side of the eye, create a soft line with a grey eyeshadow, up to the hairline. This is to outline where you want the black “sky” to go.
  9. Place stickers of stars in many different sizes in between these two grey lines.
  10. Follow the grey line on the outside of the eye, with a black eyeshadow and fill in the space where the stars are, with the same color.
  11. Use a grey eyeshadow to blend the black toward the inner part of the forhead, to create a smooth transition to the skin color.
  12. Remove the stickers and fill in the empty space with a white pencil liner, using a small, pointed brush.
  13. Apply a glitterbase over the white.
  14. Then, with a small, angled brush use loose glitter in different colors and apply it over the glitterbase. Now, you should have some beautiful, sparkly stars
  15. Apply a silver glitter liner close to your upper lash line and wing it out. Put some loose silver glitter on top of this line
  16. Create an even smaler line with a black liquid liner and wing it out twice, like it shows in the photo.
  17. In the little gap between the two black, winged out lines, apply a white base. Set this with a white eyeshadow.
  18. Fill in your upper – and lower waterline with a black eye pencil and set it with a black eyeshadow.
  19. Smudge some black along your lower lashline.
  20. Apply mascara and false lashes and your eyes are done
  21. Remove any glitter fallouts from your face with tape and makeup remover.
  22. Apply primer, foundation and powder to the rest of your face.
  23. Use a matte rosy pink blush and a matte highlight.
  24. Contour your face
  25. For the lips, you can start by outlining them with a red lip pencil and also fill them in with this pencil
  26. Apply a red lipstick in the same color as the lip pencil
  27. To make them look sharp and perfect, go over the edges of your lips, with a concealer.
  28. You’re done! 😀

The contest is up for one more day, so if you want to enter, go to www.makeuptalk.com. The prizes are some absolutely gorgeous Sugarpill makeup! 😉

Hope you liked my look! ^^

Review: NYX Box of Eye Shadows, 112 Colors!

The NYX Box of Eye Shadows is an eye shadow palette, which contains 112 colours. As you might have seen, I use this palette in a lot of my makeup looks. I want to give a review of this palette, just to show you what I like about it. 🙂

The palette has two layers. The top layer contains mostly neutral eye shadows and the lower layer has a lot of bright coloured ones. There are both matte, metallic, satin, shimmery and sparkly finishes.

Swatches of the matte eyeshadows in the palette:

Swatches of my favorite colours, (I also love many of the matte shadows):

Highlights:

I used a primer underneath the eyeshadows in the pictures, even though most of them are very pigmented! The swatches doesn’t show exactly how good the colours really look, but I hope you get an idea of how some of them are. 🙂

You can do a lot of looks with this palette: Natural eye, smokey eye, metallic eye, bright looks, shimmery – or matte looks, or you can mix different finishes.

This is a great palette if you want a lot of colours to experiment with, like I love to do 🙂 The shadows are very easy to apply and they blend very well. They also stay on all day!

All in all, the NYX Box of eyeshadows is a great and versatile palette that I love and use a lot! The only negative thing about it, is that it might be a little difficult to travel with. Other than that, I highly recommend it 🙂

I bought my palette for 35 $ at cherryculture.com. They often have it on sale. Like right now they have it for 27,99 $, which I think is a good price for all of those beautiful colours! 🙂

Stars: 5/5 🙂

I hope this was helpful!

Colour Blocking!

I didn’t plan on doing anything spesific when I started doing this look. I just wanted to use a couple of beautiful eyeshadows! 🙂 Together they created kind of a colour blocking look. The orange shadow is actually a very light, sparkling coral colour, but with Nyx Jumbo eye pencil in Milk underneath, it came out looking very bright and orange! 🙂

Products I used:

  • Too Faced – Shadow Insurance
  • NYX – Jumbo eye pencil in Milk.
  • Makeup Mekka – Dimensional Eyeshadow in Coral
  • Makeup Mekka – Dimensional Eyeshadow in Fetish
  • NYX – Box of eye shadows, 112 colours
  • Too Faced – Natural eye Neutral eyeshadow collection
  • Mac – Mineralize skinfinish, Semi Precious in Pearl
  • Too Faced – Brow envy kit
  • L’Oreal – Super Liner
  • Maybelline – One by One mascara
  • False eyelashes from ebay

Hope you liked the look 🙂
