The Hulk – makeup look! :D

Hi 😀 Today, I’ve got an other superhero look for you lovelies! ;D It’s a Hulk inspired makeup look! I love the combination of green and purple, and I also added some mint into the mix. I’ve been looking for the perfect matte, mint shadow forever and the only one I’ve found is from MUFE. I’m going to get that one, but in the mean time I had to make one myself, using a light green and a light blue. It’s the best mint-like color I’ve used so far at least hehe 😉 Anyway, I hope you enjoy the look! ❤

Products used:

  • Lime Crime – Candy eyed eyeshadow helper
  • NYX – Jumbo eye pencil in Milk
  • Lime Crime – Eyeshadow in Parasol
  • Lime Crime – Eyeshadow in Absinth- Minded
  • Lime Crime – Eyeshadow in Jade-o-Lade
  • Sugarpill – Pressed eyeshadow in Tako
  • Sugarpill – Pressed eyeshadow in Poison Plum
  • Sugarpill – Loose eyeshadow in Lumi
  • Makeup Geek – Eyeshadow in Wisteria
  • Makeup Geek – Eyeshadow in White Lies
  • Makeup Geek – Eyeshadow in Corrupt
  • Makeup Geek – Gel liner in Immortal
  • Maybelline – One by one mascara
  • Ardell – False lashes in nr. 106

Have a wonderful day, sweethearts! ❤

Sigma brushes and eye shadows! :D

Hey guys! ❤ In the beginning of August I signed up for Sigma’s affiliate program. A couple of weeks later I recieved a fabulous package from them with a brush kit, called “performance eye kit” and an eyeshadow palette with one eye shadow from each of their three eye shadow palettes: Flare, Dare and Bare.

I have been wanting to try out their brushes for a long time now, so I was super happy when I got this kit! 😀 And these brushes are perfect for me, because these are very easy to create small details with, (which I always like to do) 😛

The brushes in the kit:

  • E56 is a shader brush, which you can use to pack shadows onto your lid with. I like that it’s not all square shaped, but has a rounded tip. This makes it easier to create a pretty round shape, if you’re dragging the lid color up and into your crease. 😉
  • E36 is a small and fluffy blending brush which is good for blending out shadows in small areas, like the inner corner of your eye, or in the crease if you have very little space from crease to brow.
  • E47 is a crease brush that places and blends out eye shadows beautifully, in the crease.
  • E11 is one of my favorites out of these! I’ve always used my MAC 210 liner brush to cut my crease, since it was the tiniest one I knew of. E11 is actually smaller and I can create a more precise and prettier cut crease with it! 😀 Many of you have asked me how I create very precise lines… A good liner brush is the key! 😉
  • E46 is a shader brush that is supposed to be used in the inner corner of the eye, to apply your highlight. It is a very small shader brush, with a pointy tip, which makes it perfect to do this job!
  • E16 is a tightline liner brush which is great for filling in the space between the lashes, which often is hard to get to. You can fill it in with gel, cream or liquid liners. 🙂
  • E21 is a smudge brush, which is also one of my favorites! I love using this one to apply eye shadows to my lower lash line! ❤ It’s also very good for smudging out gel or cream liners along your upper lash line, which is perfect if you want to create a smokey eye! 😉
  • E17 is a waterline liner brush. I feel that this brush places the gel or pencil liner onto the waterline very precisely! I don’t get a lot of extra product onto my eye when using this one and that’s definitely good for the eyes. xD

All in all I think these brushes are fabulous! I’ve found a special use for each of them, which make my looks look more precise! ^-^ This kit costs 55$ and you can check it out here! ( It’s my affiliate link! 😀 ) 10 % off Discount code that you can use the entire month of October: DEAL2012 😀

These are the shadows I got. 🙂 I’ve used mostly “Publicize”, as my highlight color. It’s matte and a little bit lighter than my skin, so it’s perfect for that purpose! 🙂 The other two colors, I’ve only tried ones.

Surrender is a very pretty burgundy, which would look very good in a fall look! Command is a shimmery gold that would glamour up any look! ;D I like these colors a lot, especially Publicize, which is from the Flare palette. The Flare palette is the palette from Sigma that I’ve always wanted the most, since it contains some really beautiful greens and purples! ❤

Here are links to the palettes, if you want to check out all the colors they contain:

Here’s a couple of video tutorial’s I’ve done, where I use the brushes:

In the first video I’m using the E56 shader brush on my lid, the E11 liner brush to create precise lines, the E16 tightline brush to apply a sticky glitter base and the glitter, the E21 smudge brush on my lower lash line. I’m also using Publicize as a brow bone highlight. I’m so sorry that I say “Hare” palette in stead of “Flare” palette in these videos, I just didn’t notice it until after I’d filmed them 😛

Here I use Publicize and E21 (the smudge brush):

I hope you liked this review of these Sigma brushes and eye shadows and thank you so much Sigma, for letting me try these out! 😀 ❤

Spring Leopard Nails!

Hi guys! ^-^ I know I haven’t posted as many looks as I usually do, these last two weeks, because I’m trying to focus on reading for my exams. I’m going to try to at least make one makeup look a week though! 😉 I haven’t worn makeup in two weeks, so my hands are itching for my colorful eyeshadows, lol 😛 I can’t wait for June to come… Then I’ll do lots and lots of looks! 😀 I just thought I’d let you know what’s going on. 🙂

Anyway, wearing pretty nail colors has gotten me through these “non- makeup weeks.” xD I’ve been obsessed with my Julie G nail polishes, as you might have noticed! I made this design on my sister last week, with the colors she liked the best, and I had to try it myself. I made a quick tutorial as well, which I hope you find helpful! ^-^

Products used:

  • Sally Hansen – Complete Care 4-in-1 nail treatment
  • Julie G – Gelato in Venice
  • Julie G – Bikini
  • Viva la Diva – Nr. 53, Black
  • Seche Vite – Dry fast top coat
  • Toothpicks

How to:

Apply a base coat and when that’s dry, one thick coat of “Gelato in Venice.”

Place some of “Bikini” onto a sheet of paper and pick some of the color up, with a toothpick. Create different sized and shaped dots, with that hot pink.

Now, put some black colored nail polish onto the paper. Pick a little bit up with a new toothpick. Carefully make some black strokes on each side of the pink dots and make them all in different sizes. Every leopard has an unique pattern, so the design doesn’t have to be geometrically perfect! In the end, place some small, random dots of black in between the pink dots. Wait at least an hour, before you apply a top coat. 🙂

This is a very easy design, which I think anyone can do! I’m right handed, so I know it would have been difficult to apply the black on my right hand. I always get my boyfriend to do this on that hand and I must say he does a great job, (otherwise, I wouldn’t have worn it out, lol 😉 ) So get someone else to do that for you, if you find it difficult! ^-^

I bought the JulieG nail polishes at jessesgirlcosmetics.com 🙂

I hope you liked this nail design!

11 Questions Tag! :)

I got tagged by Lisanne and Kassie to answer these fun questions! 😀 Since I was so lucky to get tagged by both of these lovely ladies, I decided to answer half of their questions. ^-^

The rules of the tag:

  1. Each tagged person must answer the 11 questions given to them by their “tagger” and post it on their blog.
  2. Then, choose 11 new people to tag and link them in your post.
  3. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
  4. Go to their page and tell them they’ve been tagged!
  5. Do not tag back to the person who has already tagged you.

My answers:

When did your love for beauty/nailpolish/pretty sparkly stuff begin?

I’ve always loved beautiful, sparkly things! When I was little (3 – 8 years old) I loved dressing up, wearing flowery dresses, red lipstick and matching nailpolish! As probably most girls, I wanted to be a princess! 😛 Okay, here I wanted to be a hula hula girl, haha! xD

If you could only use one monochromatic set of colors of eyeshadow what would it be? I.e. only shades of blue.

For everyday use, I would say corals and for more artsy makeup, blue! 😀

Do you prefer playing with eyeshadow, lipstick or nail polish?

As you’ve probably noticed, I prefer playing with eyeshadow, but I love to have fun with different nail designs and lip colors as well!

The most rewarding thing about blogging for you?

The most rewarding thing is definitely all the positive and sweet feedback I get from my readers! I just love reading all the comments, talk to people and get to know other beauty junkies, with the same interests as I! Also, blogging drives me to get better at what I love doing! And when I hear that I’ve inspired someone, I get beyond happy! I’m just very thankful to have my blog, with all these lovely readers! ❤

Do you prefer indie companies or cooperate companies to buy your makeup from?

I love indie companies, like Sugarpill, Makeup Geek and Lime Crime. These are the brands I use the most. They’ve got cheaper products than most cooperate companies and at the same time, their products are both more pigmented and beautiful! 😉

What’s your favourite movie or tv show?

My favorite tv show right now, is Once upon a time! 🙂 I like a lot of movies, especially romantic comedies! I saw “The change up” last week, which I thought was hilarious! 😀

If you had to listen to one genre of music for the rest of your life, what genre would you choose?

Probably hip hop, since I love dancing to that type of music! And I need to dance! ❤

Do the people around you get your love for make-up? How do they respond when they find you squeeling over something beauty related?

Yes, I feel like they do! Both my family and friends are interested in and supports me in what I do. Even my dad stares at what I’m doing when I create a crazy makeup look, haha! 😀 They also find it normal when I get very excited about something beauty related! 😉

What’s your biggest make-up fail from the past?

Not blending well enough! 😛

What’s the beauty product you just can’t live without?

NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk! It just brightens up every eyeshadow, you can use it as a primer and on your waterline! I use this in almost every single makeup look! 😀

Favorite band/muscician?

Not exactly hip hop hehe, but right now, it’s Marina and the diamonds. ^-^ I just discovered her about 2 weeks ago and now I’m hooked on “Primadonna Girl”, “Oh No” and “Shampain”. 😀

I’m tagging:

My 11 questions for you are:

  1. When did you get truly passionate about makeup?
  2. What’s your favorite eyeshadow, (color or name)?
  3. What do you love the most about blogging?
  4. Which beauty guru/-s or other people, inspire your work?
  5. What are your three favorite makeup brands, that you would recommend to others?
  6. Which country is the first one on your list, to visit?
  7. What’s your “go-to” beauty product?
  8. What’s your favorite color to wear on the lips?
  9. What other interests do you have, besides makeup?
  10. From the makeup looks you’ve created, what’s your personal favorite?
  11. If you were a Disney princess, who would you be?

I hope you enjoyed this tag and that all you amazing ladies that I’ve tagged, will have fun answering these questions! If you want to do this tag on your blog, leave me a link in the comments, so that I can read your answers! 😀

Unicorn Eggs! :)

Hola! 😀 I was just playing around with Makeup Geek’s eyeshadows in Neptune and poolside, and these dots just appeared! 😛 It’s something with them that reminds me of unicorns. That’s why I called this look “Unicorn Eggs.”

Goldilux :)

The loose eyeshadow “Goldilux” from Sugarpill is one of my favorite shadows! It’s so pigmented, beautiful and a true gold color! ❤ I thought it would look good together with purple! 🙂 I made this look about a month ago, but I didn’t know if it was good enough to post. When I was taking the pictures, the daylight was almost gone and I thought the photos got a bit “ashy”. I found it again yesterday and thought I’d just post it, to see what you guys think. I hope you like it. ^-^

Products used:

  • Lime Crime – Candy eyed eyeshadow helper
  • Sugarpill – Loose eyeshadow in Goldilux
  • Sugarpill – Loose eyeshadow in Hysteric
  • Sugarpill – Loose eyeshadow in Paperdoll
  • Sugarpill – Pressed eyeshadow in Tako

  • Sugarpill – False eyelashes in Angel Baby
  • L’Oreal – Super Liner in Carbon Gloss
  • Too Faced – Brow envy kit
If you like it, you can vote for it on Makeupbee. 🙂 Thank you! ^-^
How to:
Step 1: Apply a primer all over your lid and brow bone. This will make the colors more vibrant, prevent creasing and make the shadows stay on all day long. Use Paperdoll (lilac) to cut your crease. Blend this color up toward your brow. Take Tako (white) and apply it to your brow bone and the inner corner of your eye.
Step 2:  Blend Poison Plum (dark purple) into your crease and outer v- area.
Step 3: Apply a matte black to your crease to bring some depth to the look. Apply purple over the black again, to blend it more.
Step 4: Apply NYX JEP in Milk to your waterline and cover it with Goldilux (gold). Place this gorgeous color all over your lid as well.
Step 4: Apply Hysteric (Shimmery purple) to your lower lid and Stella (shimmery black) to the outer part of the lower lid.
Step 5: Line your eyes with a black liquid liner and put on some purple lashes. These, from Sugarpill, are so super pretty! 😀
I hope you’re having a fantastic week! ❤

Sugar Bow! :)

Hi 😀 A couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend and I were cleaning our bedroom and throwing things out. I got rid of a lot of makeup packaging, like Mac, Too Faced etc. But there were one type of packaging I just couldn’t throw out… The super beautiful Sugarpill packaging! ❤ It’s just too pretty! My boyfriend agreed with me, so I put them in a cute box. Then he came up with an idea for a makeup look: to create a look inspired by the packaging of the palettes! ^-^ I thought that was a great idea and now I’ve finally created such a look. The girl on the packaging is wearing a super cute bow, so I wanted to try adding it to the look. I hope you like it! 🙂

Rainbow Heaven :)

Yes, I’m actually showing you a full faced makeup look, hehe! 😀 I just wanted to show you how the glitter brows look on both eyes. 😉 This time, I made the brows with all the colors of the rainbow. The sky blue color is supposed to represent the blue sky and the gold liner (using Sugarpill’s “Goldilux”) is the gold that you find at the end of the rainbow! ^-^ The green on the lower lid represents the grass, and the raindrops on the side of my face, are in all the rainbow colors as well! 🙂

Gorgeous NYE look by Stacey Brennan! :D

Hi beauties! I was contacted by this sweet and talented girl Stacey yesterday, where she told me that my looks inspired her to do this amazing New Year’s Eve look, on her youtube channel. 🙂 I got so happy, because my main goal with this blog is to be of inspiration. She mentions my blog in her video, which I’m so honored by!! Also, I’m so thankful and happy about her overwhelming compliments. They mean so much to me!

Check out this tutorial and all the other great videoes on her YT channel, if you want inspiration and to learn new things about makeup! 😀 http://www.youtube.com/staceybrennan

In the video, she’s wondering if I have a youtube channel. Unfortunately, I don’t have one yet, but I’ve been wanting to start making video tutorials for a while now. So I’ll definetly start doing that soon, I just have to save up enough for a video camera first. 🙂

Thank you so much, Stacey! ❤

HauteLook.com! :)

I don’t know if I’m very late at discovering this page, but I found it today and it has so much gorgeous NYX makeup for sale, between 50 and 75 % off retail prices! 😀 I definitely have to do a little bit of shopping here today! They sell clothes, jewlery, accessories and so on too 🙂

But what I was mostly shocked by was that they sell The NYX Box of eyeshadows, 112 colours, for only 21 $ today! :O I bought it for 35 $ 😛 This is one of my favorite palettes and if you want, you can check out my review on it here: https://glittergirlc.wordpress.com/2011/12/04/review-nyx-box-of-eye-shadows-112-colors/

I just thought I’d share this page with you, since they sell great makeup at a very good price. 😀 http://www.hautelook.com 🙂

Hi :)

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Cecilie. I’m a 21 year old makeup loving girl from Norway. I’ve finally found the courage to start my own blog, which is manly going to be about makeup. I want to share my love and interest for makeup and hopefully inspire other makeup lovers!

I’m going to post my makeup looks, do makeup tutorials, write some product reviews and other things.

I’m not a makeupartist, but makeup is my passion and the way I express myself. I’m hoping to get in to a makeup school next year though. 🙂

My blogname “GlitterGirlC” comes from a contest I entered about a year ago, where I answered the question “If you were a superhero, what would you be called and why?” My answer was “If I was a superhero, I would be called Glitter Girl 😀 Because I love glitter, specially when it comes to makeup! I would wear a pink, glittery costume and come to the rescue every time there was a makeup emergency! The glitter on my eyes and nails would change colour in every situation. I could just emit glitter from my nails and my eyes, to fix every bad makeup situation.”

I thought this was the perfect name for my blog, since I use glitter in almost every makeup look! I just love mixing and matching different eyeshadow colours and glitters. 🙂 Also, I would love to help out if someone has any makeup questions!

I just thought I’d tell you a little bit about myself, and I hope you will enjoy my blog! 🙂
